Nabal Bracero,MD

Doctor Nabal Bracero, egresado de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Obtuvo su residencia en obstetricia y ginecología en el Hospital Universitario de Puerto Rico y una sub-especialidad en endocrinólogo reproductivo e infertilidad formado en la Escuela de Medicina de la Universidad de Johns Hopkins en Baltimore, Maryland.

Se ha destacado como investigador de enfermedades del sistema reproductivo como la endometriosis. Es profesor en la facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Director Científico del “Sunshine Seminar”, Presidente y fundador de PROGyn, Director de GENES Fertility Institute en San Juan, y Tesorero del Distrito IV del Colegio Americano de Obstetricia y Ginecología (ACOG).

Alexandra Quintana,MD

Dr. Alexandra Quintana Agesta completed bachelor’s in Molecular Cellular Biology at University of Puerto Rico Rio Piedras Campus. She later completed Medical School at University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. Afterwards, she completed Intern Year at Internal Medicine Residency at University District Hospital and is now senior, fourth year resident, at Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at University District Hospital.

Dr. Alexandra Quintana Agesta recently became a mother, experience that further increased empathy and rapport with pregnancy patients in her practice. Also is passionate about breastfeeding medicine and preventive medicine. She is described by peers as driven, responsible, caring and respectful. She has a special interest in pregnancy-related disorders and pathology; currently trained in high-risk obstetrics. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, family time and exploring new coffee shops. Original from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico; determined to continue her career in Puerto Rico and provide gynecological care of excellence to her surrounding community in need.

Dr. Karlene Vega Figueroa  is a fourth-year academic chief resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Centro Médico Episcopal San Lucas in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Dr. Vega has dedicated time of her medical training to advancing patient safety and quality improvement. Throughout her residency, she has collaborated closely with hospital staff on several initiatives aimed at elevating patient care standards. Dr. Vega’s professional interests lie in managing complex maternal and fetal conditions, a focus that has driven her to pursue a career in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Her commitment to addressing the shortage of high-risk pregnancy specialists on the island fuels her aspiration to return to Puerto Rico as a trained MFM specialist. In addition to improving access to specialized care, Dr. Vega aims to contribute to the education of the healthcare community, ensuring that both patients and providers benefit from enhanced knowledge and resources.

Dr. Maria Isabel Hawayek is a dedicated physician specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology, currently serving as a resident at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Maria developed a profound interest in the physiological changes the human body undergoes during pregnancy while studying medicine. This fascination led her to pursue a career in OBGYN.

Maria’s career path has been deeply influenced by her commitment to serving underserved populations. She works in a high-risk clinic where she encounters a wide spectrum of obstetric and gynecological pathologies. Despite facing resource limitations at times, Maria strives to provide the highest quality of care possible to her patients. She has honed her ability to adapt to diverse patient populations, each with unique backgrounds and needs, ensuring they receive optimal care and support during vulnerable times.

Driven by her clinical experiences, Maria has developed a passion for research aimed at enhancing patient care outcomes. She believes in continuously improving her skills and knowledge to better serve her patients. Maria is particularly interested in exploring various facets of high-risk obstetrics and aims to pursue a fellowship in maternal fetal medicine upon completing her residency. Her goal is to expand her expertise and contribute significantly to advancing healthcare in her field.

Dr. Maria Teresa Ortiz Fullana is a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional who holds a Master’s degree in Public Health with a specialization in Epidemiology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Science Campus. She furthered her passion for medicine by pursuing her Medical Career at Universidad Central del Caribe and is now in her third year of residency at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Science Campus, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Ortiz-Fullana is renowned by peers for her deep empathy, work ethic, and profound commitment to advancing women’s health. Originally from Manatí, Puerto Rico, she is determined to complete her specialty training and return to her hometown to serve the community that shaped her. Dr. Omar Andino-Ortega is an Academic Chief Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Centro Médico Episcopal San Lucas in Ponce, Puerto Rico. During his residency, he has worked hand in hand with hospital personnel to develop protocols for the safe management of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and peripartum hemorrhage. His passion for obstetrics has led him to pursue a career in private practice with a focus on underserved populations with high-risk pregnancies.

La doctora Rocío Figueroa González es nacida y criada en Ponce, Puerto Rico. Posee un bachillerato en ciencias generales con una concentración menor en Biología y Psicología. Asistió a la Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara donde culminó su doctorado en medicina. Actualmente es médico residente de cuarto año en Obstetricia y Ginecología en el Centro Médico Episcopal San Lucas en Ponce, Puerto Rico donde desempeña el cargo de “administrative chief resident”. La doctora Figueroa siempre ha mostrado pasión por empoderar a la mujer a tomar responsabilidad de su salud, mediante la educación y concientización. Durante todos esto años de formación, ha buscado formar conexiones auténticas con sus pacientes para ofrecerles un mejor servicio y ayudarlas con su salud mental y física. Los intereses a largo plaza de la doctora Figueroa incluyen practicar una medicina enfocada en el cuidado primario de las pacientes durante todas las etapas de la vida, en la educación sexual, planificación familiar y medicina preventiva.
